LOCAL AMENITIES


Le Hibou Noir is only minutes away from the working town of Bégard with its shops, banks, supermarkets, artisan boulangerie (Moël), bars and restaurants.  There is a weekly Friday morning market (0830-1230) offering local and organic produce.

Kite Surfing


Situated at Saint-Michel-en-Grève and 20 minutes from Le Hibou Noir, Kite's Cool offers instructor-led courses

for all abilities.

Teaching is undertaken in shallow and deep water with a maximum of 4 students.

Kayaks, paddle boards and kitesurf rentals are also available.


Accrobranche


Accrobranche is a treetop experience dedicated to offering adults and children a unique adventure in lush, green forests. There are different obstacle courses available at various heights consisting of awesome treetop high ropes and tricky crossings (with ladders, tunnels, walkways and bridges) and finishing with spectacular zip lines.

Amoripark


Located 5 minutes away, the Amoripark is a leisure park for all the family.

Perros Guirec


Trestraou beach is situated 25 minutes from Le Hibou Noir. This sandy beach is in a cove sheltered by rocky outlets on both sides.


There are numerous resturants and bars situated along the promenade, including an ice cream shop that can be highly recommended (Le Glacier de Sept Iles).


During the summer months there are regular boat trips to vist the Sept Iles Archipelago (seven islands) home to many bird species (puffins, kittiwakes, manx shearwaters, guillemots). France's largest colony of northern gannets can be observed by boat on ÎIe Rouzic.


Vallée des Saints, Carnoët

(Valley of the Saints)


The Vallée des Saints is a unique historic site, a land of legends and the birthplace of incredible sculptures.

A feudal moat, a 16th century chapel and giant statues of Breton Saints can be discovering in this undulating landscape. There are currently around 50 statues standing on the grass representing the monks who came over from Ireland, Wales and Cornwall to bring Christianity to Brittany.




Abbaye de Beauport

(Beauport Maritime Abbey)


The abbey is at the heart of Beauport cove, sheltered by Paimpol bay. Its construction began in1202 and came to an end in the 17th century. The building was declared an historical monument in 1862.

Situated in beautiful natural surroundings, the abbey (sold as national property during the revolution, then restored in the 19th century by the Morand family) and its coastline have been the property of the Conservatoire du Littoral (French Coastal Protection Agency) since 1992.  In order to preserve the biodiversity, garden maintenance is carried out on a sustainable gardening system where the more formal gardens and wilder areas are managed with respect to each ecosystem

Côte de Granit Rose

(Pink Granite Coast)


The Pink Granite Coast is so-called because of the colour of its rocks, is one of the most beautiful stretches of Brittany's coastline.  The area is renowned for its unusual rock formations, the best of which can be found on the coastal path between Perros Guirec and the port of Ploumanac'h.
